[P] ELI5:Dear Bengali brethren, why do you guys vote for Mamta Banerjee?

Media has painted a really tainted character of Mamta Banerjee, can you guys please tell me things which I am missing and why is she still in power?

- Left rule of WB has 'left' no viable alternative and Mamta filled that gap with a very very stellar politics - if you think Jayalaitha or Modi has/had power and charisma and political wherewithal, consider this - all had a political mentor or some sort of a system before them coming in - but Mamta created everything from scratch or thereabouts. So, that tells the pull she has in WB politics
- Mamta was not a pariah as she is made out to be recently. In fact before Modi took over she was even considered a 'potential' BJP supporter - watch Modi interview to Arnab to know this. Point is her current politics s as much a reflection of her reaction to national politics as it is to the gross mismanagement by her administration (which is real btw)
- She is elected CM, with majority and you just can't wish her away unless there is a substantial political clout by opposition, or such lawlessness that Governors rule is imposed. Prior is missing as of now, and latter is very very far fetched and in fact may prove disastrous for WB.
- She may still have some fighting change to get re-elcted - but those chances are less. You may see a huge incumbency factors in next poll. So do not jump to conclusions as yet.
- Personally, I am flummoxed by her politics of late - especially looking at how Nitish is taking measures to consolidate himself and take a less confortionist view wrt BJP at center - whereas Mamta di invokes the political activist in her at slightest of provocation. Also, note there is huge power struggle at the second rung at the party- something that may be detrimental to Trinmool in next elections as they have struggled to showcase any substantial second rung which stays in shadows of Mamta Di, but does not endanger party unity.

How do you choose P-Reps to vote for?

I'm trying to wrap my head around on who to delegate my ICX. What criteria do you use for choosing P-Reps?

In my opinion, it really depends on what you think is going to be benefiting the system the most.
The p-reps' proposals are usually grouped in several different segments (this is my personal segregation - they can be grouped in a lot of different ways):
node running - the most basic requirement but often neglected as it is the main component to make the system work, however there are many teams that are strong in: improving the node security, improving citizen nodes, node performance, DDoS attack mitigation, fraud prevention etc
local representation - organizing meetups, sponsoring hackathons, organizing face-to-face meetings with businesses, developers and government representatives, attending conferences etc
online representation - online PR and community assistance, community representation, education videos/articles etc
technical - developing dApps, improving UI, improving the customer experience, improving interconnectability, improving the chain performance etc
The way that I like to delegate my ICX is simply start by researching all teams (it can take a lot of time, yes, but these are the people that will be responsible for running the network and can boost a lot or run your investment into the ground). After I have done my research I pick the teams that I like and I try to imagine that its only me that is doing 100% of the total voting, so that means that I need to have a strong and well rounded for all purposes team and also that I have a slightly higher focus in the area that I think is going to improve the system the most.
After I have selected that team, I simply look at the current votes and see if any of the teams that I have picked have enough votes currently for the plans that they have expressed in their proposal - if I think that they do, I take them out of my current delegations or lower the delegation amount towards them (if they are a very strong pick of mine, I just lower the amount a bit as the extra delegations are always good for a team). I do that for all teams on my list and move the ICX that were freed that way from my delegation plan to other team(s) that I like that did not make my initial top p-rep list.
That is pretty much the way that I do it - I hope that it is of any help to you :)

I’m still confused how certain teams (no names) that don’t have anything going on are at similar vote counts with teams (Insight) that have extensive resources, connections at 400 tech companies, and are pumping out infrastructure and Dapp standards docs for ICON weekly.

So I was just on basketball reference and I saw that NBA legend P.J Brown received an MVP vote after an honestly mediocre season. Does anyone have NBA Live 2005 or 2006 and could tell me his rating in that game. Thanks!
